DIY Laundry Room Sign

Image
I don't have a fancy laundry room. It's in a storage area in the unfinished part of our basement. As I was cleaning up the area, I thought I would like to put a small sign just to spruce it up a bit. Looking on the internet, I saw this cute sign (below) that caught my attention. I really didn't want to spend $20 on a little sign and then thinking about it, I thought why not make it myself. Hobby Lobby was my first thought to find an unfinished wood sign and I was correct, they did have something I liked and it was only $2. I had everything else in my arsenal of crafts to make it. Paint the sign and let it dry. Decide what font & size ...

DIY Over the Door Sign

I have a Cricut Explore Air & vinyl, all I needed was the wood and paint. I found the unfinished wood at Home Depot.  I bought two 1 in. x 4 in. x 39” Spruce/Pine/Fir Common Board Bed Slats @ $2.96 a piece.  The paint I bought at Walmart, Waverly Inspirations Ultra Matte White for $6.54.  The vinyl I used was Cricut removable vinyl . It actually wasn’t easy to remove when I made a mistake, that was disappointing.  The 2” font was Courgette and I cut black vinyl. I had to make it fit on the 12” x 12” vinyl sheet. After cutting it out with my Cricut Explore Air, I cut sections of the words and used transfer paper to adhere to the painted wood.  As far as the removeable vinyl goes, it didn’t want to remove when I made a mistake. OOPS! ...

The Sassy Silver Sisters had an opportunity to visit the coolest shop in Fredericksburg after we had our traditional birthday lunch. When Pigs Fly  (The name is even cool) Very interesting and welcomed by the owner, Janese. She was gracious enough to stop her work to answer our many questions. Furniture and many other items painted up to be colorful and fun. She offers classes as well -- so check her out and let her know what you are interested in.
