Easy Christmas Cookie Recipes Pt 1

Christmas cookies are a classic holiday treat that everyone loves to enjoy. Making them doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming, however. With the right recipes and a few simple ingredients, you can whip up a batch of delicious, festive treats in no time! Whether you opt for chocolate chip or sugar cookies, these easy recipes are sure to please everyone at your holiday gathering.

This blog post is a two-parter, as we will have more recipes next week. Stay tuned and enjoy the recipes!

Eggnog Blossoms - The spicy-rich flavors of eggnog add a new holiday twist to a classic cookie shape, and the striped chocolate candies on top make them even more festive.

Cornflake Christmas Wreaths - Cornflakes get dressed for the holidays when mixed with a green marshmallow coating. Shaped into individual wreaths and topped with festive candies, these crunchy treats are a fun no-bake recipe.

Peppermint Bark CookiesThe combination of white peppermint bark atop a chocolate cookie base equals the ultimate holiday treat. This big-batch recipe is ideal for cookie swaps, festive parties or even wrapping up as gifts. It is also easy enough for baking with the whole family. Instead of forming individual cookies, you break the giant sheet into pieces, just like you would with traditional bark.

Smashed Sugar Cookies
We love the imperfection of these festive smashed cookies. The addition of two eggs gives the centers a tender and soft texture, while the crinkled edges get ever so slightly golden and crisp. Top with a simple confectioners' sugar glaze for a holiday treat perfect for a cookie tin.

Peppermint Muffin Tin Cookies
Thanks to the help of a muffin tin, these peppermint-spiked sugar cookies are perfectly round every single time. They're also easy enough for everyone in the family to pitch in to help. Frozen peppermint patties are stuffed in the middle to ramp up the flavor and provide a hidden surprise with the first bite. No need to decorate after baking -- the sprinkles go right on top before going into the oven so that once they are cool, they are ready to go.

Holiday Swirl Sugar Cookies - How funny are these cookies?

Classic Sugar Cookies
These are the familiar cookies, with crispy edges and a slightly soft middle. Superfine sugar gives them their crunchiness. The small amount of baking powder ensures that they puff just a little without spreading too much and losing their shape.

Chocolate Coconut Balls - I think these are my favorite because I love coconut and chocolate together.

***UPDATED 3/2/24***

Allergy season is upon us and doTerra has some great products to help get us through this tough season. I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite doTerra oil blends, Breathe. It comes in 4 forms: Breathe Oil, Breathe Touch, Breathe Vapor Stick, and Breathe Respiratory Drops.

doTERRA Breathe is a remarkable blend of essential oils including Laurel Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca, Lemon, Cardamom, Ravintsara, and Ravensara.  The oil comes in a 15 mL bottle.  Breathe can be used topically or diffused.  If I am having a hard time breathing I will rub some on my chest or feet to help me breathe better.

Breathe also comes in a vapor stick form which is great for children.  have given this as a gift to my children to use on my grandchildren. The older grandchildren can use it by themselves.  The natural formula of this vapor stick glides on the skin with ease, without leaving a greasy or sticky after-feel.  The size is perfect for traveling.

Breathe Touch is perfect for traveling as well.  This product has fractionated coconut oil added to the blend to help it glide on gently.  Also useful when you are traveling.  Rub this on your chest, back, or feet to help clear those airways anytime anywhere.  It comes in a 10 mL roll-on bottle.

Last but not least are the doTerra Respiratory Drops.  If you like to inhale from within these are just right for you.  doTERRA Breathe natural drops are a blend of selected oils from doTERRA Breathe CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oil blend mixed into a respiratory drop to make it more convenient to enjoy the benefits of these oils. Lemon, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Thyme, Melissa, and Cardamom essential oils all help to clean and soothe airways and now they can be delivered straight to your mouth and throat in these great-tasting lozenges.
