As we get ready to celebrate Independence Day in the USA, many of us plan to attend fireworks displays, a backyard picnic, or perhaps enjoy the fun at the beach. The American Red Cross offers these tips so you can enjoy a fun-packed, safe holiday. 🎆 FIREWORKS SAFETY 🎆 The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend a public firework show put on by professionals. Stay at least 500 feet away from the show. Many states outlaw most fireworks. Leave any area immediately where untrained amateurs are using fireworks. If you are setting fireworks off at home, follow these safety steps: N ever give fireworks to small children, and never throw or point a firework toward people, animals, vehicles, structures, or flammable materials. Always follow the instructions on the packaging. Keep a supply of water close by as a precaution. Make sure the person lighting fireworks always wears eye protection. What brings you joy???

***Updated 4/29/23*** I've been thinking lately about what brings me joy. We all go through trials in our lives and I believe that during the struggle we can find a blessing and joy. Here are a few things that bring me JOY: My Lord as Savior is the foremost JOY in my life. If it wasn't for him giving me life and victory to fight the good fight, I don't know where I'd be today. Thank you, Lord!! My husband Jay, is my greatest earthly joy. He makes me laugh at the dumbest things and he keeps me grounded. He's a wonderful father, grandfather, and provider and he's the love of my life. I'm glad he found me! My children are a blessing and a joy, no matter how old they are, they will always be my babies. My grandchildren are just the icing on the cake with a big old JOY on top. I love them to the moon and back.
