PRODUCT REVIEW Hamilton Beach Bread Machine

Image
My husband is trying to go gluten-free.  So before Christmas, we were trying to make gluten-free bread. One of our Christmas presents was a Hamilton Beach bread machine.  It has a gluten-free setting.  Nice, right?  So we have made a few items with it.  After all, it is tax season and I am super busy getting my records to the accountant. My husband has made several loaves of gluten-free bread.  We used the gluten-free setting.   He likes the ease of using the machine.   The bread turned out pretty good.   Gluten-free is a dense bread, so he mainly uses it for toast.   I thought I had a picture, but I guess not.   Sorry. As you can see there are quit...

Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean. Let cool and slice. Seal and store at room temperature for a few days, in the refrigerator for a few weeks, or in the freezer for a month or so. ******************************************...

Bread Slicer Review

Image
I recently bought a new bread maker, the Frigidaire 15 Program Automatic Bread Maker from Walmart, and while searching for a new bread maker to buy, I found  Amazon was advertising this collapsible bread slicer. I did a little research and discovered that majority of folks who bought it gave it a great rating.  So needless to say, I bought one.  My first thought was when I took it out of the box is that you can cut the bread in different thicknesses. It has  4 different thicknesses:  0.59”/ 0.79”/ 0.98”/ 1.18". It stands up well after opening. Once I had my bread ready, I held it up against the front of the slicer, took a long serrated knife, and began slicing. The slicer moved around a bit and I didn’t like that so I put some grip shelf liner under it. That worked like a charm to keep it steady. Plus you don’t have to worry about cutting your fingers. For every slice, I took each cut slice of bread and moved it to the cutting board.  VOILA!!  I ...
