Bacon Broccoli Cheddar Crustless Quiche Recipe Review

Image
Do you get sick of eating the same old thing for dinner? I surely do. As I was looking in the frig for some dinner inspiration, I found I had some leftover broccoli and some eggs. So I thought maybe Quiche would do the trick. I went to the trusty interweb and there were lots of recipes and they looked good, but I didn't have all the ingredients on hand.  Plus, I wanted a crustless recipe since my husband is trying not to eat so much gluten.  I came across this recipe, Bacon Broccoli Cheddar Crustless Quiche .  This recipe makes the quiche high protein and low carb.  If you are watching your sugars, as I am, that is exactly what you need to eat. Amazingly I had all the ingredients.  That narrowed down how I choose the recipe.  I did add a bit of onion which was not on the list.   Since my broccoli was fresh, I put a little butter, chopped onion, and the broccoli in a pan and cooked it until the broccoli was cooked a little.  I also added a little pepper too and used some whole m

My Royal Caribbean Cruise

Image
Our son, Christopher, and his wife, Monica, recently took us on a cruise with their two little ones, Diego (5) and Mia (4).  This was a Royal Caribbean Cruise , which we were on one of their cruises many years ago.  The one thing I found different was that the gratuities were paid in advance.  I liked that.  We gave a small extra tip to our dinner servers and the room steward.  That takes the pressure off everyone.  As you can imagine, all the cruise workers were very nice and helpful. Leroy and I had an interior room with a double or queen bed (not sure which).  There was room to get around the bed on each side.  There was a love seat and desk area along with a mini fridge.  There was a fairly large closet, room to store luggage under the bed, and the bathroom was small but adequate. Here are two of the towel animals we found on our bed.  Our guy did not do this every day, but most days we found animal towels. We had three stops on our weeklong cruise.  The first stop was at Coco Ca

Celebrate National Strawberry Month with these Recipes

May is National Strawberry Month.  Fresh strawberries are one of the most popular and refreshing treats anywhere and healthy too! Perfect for everything from cheesecake to mojitos to jam. And since the peak picking season starts in May, there will be plenty of juicy blooms.  Here are some juicy tidbits about strawberries: Strawberries are high in Vitamin C. Eating eight strawberries is all it takes to consume 140% of a child's recommended daily intake of Vitamin C. Good thing my grandson loves strawberries. You can find them all over the U.S. Strawberries are grown in all fifty states. They are ar related to a popular flower. Strawberries belong to the Rosaceae flowering plant family, which is also the family of the rose. Strawberries aren't berries. Fruits that fall into the berry category have seeds on the inside, not the outside. They are very stimulating. The French are convinced that strawberries serve as a powerful aphrodisiac, so much so that it's a tradition in the

Product Review - FoodSaver V4400

***UPDATED 4/27/24*** Another Christmas present my husband and I received was a FoodSaver .  We received this from my son and his wife .   We were thinking about getting one and of course, my husband wanted to buy one right before Christmas .  My practice is not to buy anything right before Christmas just in case you get it for Christmas .  Good thing I would not let him get one .  ðŸ˜œ   This is the machine we received, FoodSaver V4400 .  I didn't know there were so many different styles and kinds of food savers.   This one is a nice size.   Not too small or big.   It fits on my counter nicely, but when not in use I have it on my buffet.   I don't have a lot of counter space. As you can see it also vacuums containers and bags.  It came with a roll to size your own, a couple small reusable bags, a couple of larger reusable bags, and bags to seal already sized .  I have to admit, I have not tried reusable bags yet .  But I am excited about trying them.   I have had to buy more
