What brings you joy???

***Updated 4/29/23***

I've been thinking lately about what brings me joy. We all go through trials in our lives and I believe that during the struggle we can find a blessing and joy.

Here are a few things that bring me JOY:

  • My Lord as Savior is the foremost JOY in my life. If it wasn't for him giving me life and victory to fight the good fight, I don't know where I'd be today. Thank you, Lord!!

  • My husband Jay, is my greatest earthly joy. He makes me laugh at the dumbest things and he keeps me grounded. He's a wonderful father, grandfather, and provider and he's the love of my life. I'm glad he found me!

  • My children are a blessing and a joy, no matter how old they are, they will always be my babies.
  • My grandchildren are just the icing on the cake with a big old JOY on top. I love them to the moon and back. What's the saying, "If I had known grandchildren were this much fun I would have had them first".
  • My dog Baxter is a wonderful dog and brings great joy. You don't need therapy when you have a dog. They sit there and listen without judgment. Baxter is soft to the touch, fun to play with, and loves to be with me.
  • Birdwatching has become therapeutic and a great joy. I feed the birds in my front yard and as I sit on the front porch watching and listening to them I can only think about God's mighty creation and that He not only made them for Himself but for our enjoyment.
  • Chocolate is a great joy. I LOVE it!! It tastes so good and creamy. Oh to have a Snickers bar right about now.
  • The beach is a source of joy. Sitting on the beach or on the deck of the beach house has this calming effect.  I could go to sleep in the hammock under the beach chouse. There is a sense of peace and joy that comes over me when watching and listening to the ocean waves.

  • Gardening has become fun for me. The joy it brings me to see my flowers grow and the harvesting of my veggies is indescribable.

  • My husband bought me a water fountain for Mother’s Day a couple of years ago. It has a relaxing effect and sounds like a babbling brook in nature. Brings me JOY me every day.

  • Trying a new restaurant: You never know what’s out there as far as different food unless you try a new restaurant and that always brings me joy. I love food 🥘

  • Making a seafood boil: I have been making seafood boils for years now, especially on our beach trips. What brings me joy about this is my family loves it. Just the sounds and smiles on their faces bring me extreme joy.

I could go on and on about the joys in my life. How about you, what brings you joy? We'd love to know. Comment and share your joys!!

Keep it sassy!!

doTERRA Breathe for the Upcoming Allergy Season

***UPDATED 3/2/24***

Allergy season is upon us and doTerra has some great products to help get us through this tough season. I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite doTerra oil blends, Breathe. It comes in 4 forms: Breathe Oil, Breathe Touch, Breathe Vapor Stick, and Breathe Respiratory Drops.

doTERRA Breathe is a remarkable blend of essential oils including Laurel Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca, Lemon, Cardamom, Ravintsara, and Ravensara.  The oil comes in a 15 mL bottle.  Breathe can be used topically or diffused.  If I am having a hard time breathing I will rub some on my chest or feet to help me breathe better.

Breathe also comes in a vapor stick form which is great for children.  have given this as a gift to my children to use on my grandchildren. The older grandchildren can use it by themselves.  The natural formula of this vapor stick glides on the skin with ease, without leaving a greasy or sticky after-feel.  The size is perfect for traveling.

Breathe Touch is perfect for traveling as well.  This product has fractionated coconut oil added to the blend to help it glide on gently.  Also useful when you are traveling.  Rub this on your chest, back, or feet to help clear those airways anytime anywhere.  It comes in a 10 mL roll-on bottle.

Last but not least are the doTerra Respiratory Drops.  If you like to inhale from within these are just right for you.  doTERRA Breathe natural drops are a blend of selected oils from doTERRA Breathe CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oil blend mixed into a respiratory drop to make it more convenient to enjoy the benefits of these oils. Lemon, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Thyme, Melissa, and Cardamom essential oils all help to clean and soothe airways and now they can be delivered straight to your mouth and throat in these great-tasting lozenges.

Pinterest Lephrechaun S'mores NAILED IT --- NOT!!

For our  February LIVE Facebook video, we thought we'd try out a Pinterest project of these adorable Leprechaun Hat & S'more's. How good do they look? Chocolate, Keebler's striped cookies and marshmallows. What's not to love about that?

As you can see by our attempt on LIVE video, they didn't turn out to half bad. We didn't dip the whole cookie in the chocolate like the directions said to but for time sake that part worked out fine. We dipped the marshmallows in the chocolate with toothpick and set them on a plate, put them in the freezer for a bit. After taking them out of the freezer, we dipped one side in chocolate to attach to the cookie. This is where we failed. We should have dipped the chocolate covered marshmallows in the green chocolate then dipped them in the green sugar. Our attempt to make a shamrock failed also.

It was all in fun and if you want to try and make them yourself, we would suggest taking a bit more time than we did. Have some fun and make these!! They were delicious!! Make them with your kids or grandkids.

Enjoy our video on making these adorable Leprechaun hats!!

Bye Bye for now,

Advice on Raising Children

***UPDATED 12/26/22***

We think having and raising a family is the most wonderful gift from above.
We three sisters thought we'd share some advice from our own experiences.

1. Hold your babies! They need that connection with their mom, dad, or whoever is taking care of them. It's so fun to watch their expressions while they sleep.
2. Feed your babies while holding them. Children shouldn't be an inconvenience so make sure you take the time to feed them properly.
3. Talk to your children. They learn to communicate when they are being talked to you by you, not the TV or electronics.
4. Read to your kids. Just maybe they will love to read when they're older. It's a good thing.
5. Play with your kids. The imagination of children is fueled by you. How fun it is to watch their little minds make up stories and pretend.

We hope this helps all of you new parents or soon-to-be parents.

Congratulations to Kelly, as she was blessed with her 5th grandchild this January. **It's a boy, thought you'd like an update since this was written in 2017**

We can't wait to meet Rhonda's, soon-to-be grandbaby. It's so exciting to have new family members. **It's a boy, I guess this was the year for boys**

Here's the latest video on this subject...

Do you have any advice for new parents? We'd love to hear from you in the comments below.

Stay safe and sassy!
