Jhirmack Silver Brightening Ageless Shampoo Review

Do you have white/silver hair like us three sisters? I've been using Jhirmack Silver Brightening Ageless Shampoo for sometime now and would highly recommend it for your white, silver or gray hair.
This color-safe formula boosts texture & softness while helping to neutralize unwanted yellow hues and reduce brassiness. Green Tea Extract and Folic Acid strengthen and condition, while CoQ10 protects from styling damage and environmental stressors to keep hair strong & healthy. Macadamia Nut Oil moisturizes rough, limp hair (improving elasticity) without leaving your scalp greasy. The Jhirmack Silver Hair Care regimen is developed for all shades of silver, blonde and gray hair; from cleansing to conditioning. Our innovative & effective violet pigment in all formulas work to neutralize unwanted yellow and orange tones, aiding in the reduction of brassiness and helps to brighten silver/blonde hair.

Here's my take on the shampoo:

  • Smell: It has a nice fruit scent.
  • Look & feel: it looks silvery / purple and feels thick and silky.
  • How it works: Like most purple shampoos, this works very subtly, so do not expect to completely "tone" brassy hair in one wash. You will need to use often to keep brassy/ yellow tones down. I have naturally white hair and use this once or twice a week without issue. The purple can take very quickly if you leave it stay on your hair very long before rinsing. I noticed in that situation, you should use it less often because your hair will turn purple.
  • Price: This brand is the MOST affordable purple shampoo on the market. I purchased it originally on Amazon but recently found it at Target for a great price.
We'd love to hear from you about what hair care you use for your silver locks!! Let us know in the comments!

10 Great Picnic Tips & Hacks

****UPDATED 8/5/23/****

Picnic season is a favorite of our family. Whether it be a quick lunch in the park or a family gathering, it's always fun. You can have a picnic just about anywhere, at the beach, the park, in the back of your car with the trunk open, or in your very own backyard. We all can use some help on how to have a picnic go smoothly. Follow these helpful tips and enjoy the great outdoors!

1. Grab 'n Go Push the bottom of a large chip bag upwards inside itself to turn it instantly into the perfect snack bowl.

2. Easy Sippin’ - Worry no more about losing your straw to the wind or into your drink. Instead, stick your straw securely through the cap of your soda or drink can.

3. Keep Your Blanket Dry - Stick a shower curtain under your picnic blanket to ensure that no one has a damp seat from the grass!

4. Make Your Own Speakers - Place your phone into a glass to stream music. The cup will amplify the music like a speaker!

5. Cupcake Liners Aren’t Just for Cupcakes - Place a cupcake liner over your glass to keep the bugs at bay!

See the source image

6. Prevent Apples from Turning Brown - If you’re a fan of sliced apples and looking to prep them ahead of time, keep them from turning brown by holding the slices together with a hair tie or rubber band.

7. Keep Your Salads Fresh - Store your salad in a glass canning jar, keeping the dressing at the bottom to prevent your salad from getting soggy. Stir when it’s time to enjoy!

See the source image

8. Easy Salt & Pepper Shakers - Don't throw those mint containers away. Store salt and pepper in empty mint containers for easy pouring.

9. Prevent Sticky Hands - another use for those cupcake wrappersPlace a cupcake liner at the base of your popsicle to prevent dripping, keeping your hands free of a sticky mess!

10. Frozen Water Bottles - Freeze water bottles ahead of time, using them as the “ice packs” for your picnic lunch!

What do you think about these tips? Have you any tips or hints to share? We would love to hear from you!

Keep it Sassy,
Kelly

Senior Moments OH MY!!

***UPDATED 7/14/23**Senior Moment - nounDefinition of senior moment: an instance of momentary forgetfulness or confusion that is attributed to the aging processI think the dictionary is right on and to the point of a senior moment. We all are getting older and have MANY senior moments (at least I do), so why not embrace our days and forget our worries (maybe that would help with the growing older thing, forgetting our worries). Enjoy the following pictures all about growing older and having senior moments. Laugh out loud!!

What? Where in the world is this sign?

We all should have the young spirit of these ladies.

Those were the days! 😃

This is crazy! Wondering if this was photoshopped?? What do you think?

Last but not least, I really hope I don't get to this point of
forgetting to dress for a bike ride. 🤣

We hope you enjoyed today's blog. Do you have a favorite from the above? Do you have a senior moment you'd like to share? Comment below. We'd love to hear from you.

No Bake S’mores Recipe by The Pioneer Woman

***UPDATED 6/18/23***

I don't know about you but it's way too hot to be roasting marshmallows, even though I LOVE them. Recently I found a recipe for No Bake S'mores Bars by the Pioneer Woman and decided it's a great time to get my roasted s'mores and not sweat to death LOL!
Plus, these would make a great treat for the upcoming 4th of July.

Ingredients

  • Nonstick cooking spray, for the pan
  • 4 T salted butter
  • 10 oz. bag mini marshmallow
  • 12 oz. bag of semisweet chocolate chips
  • Pink of salt
  • 9 graham crackers, broken into pieces
  • 1/4 C mini chocolate-coated candies
  • 2 T rainbow sprinkles
Directions
  1. Line a 9" square baking pan with waxed paper, overlapping all 4 sides. Spray with cooking spray.
  2. Place a nonstick pan over low heat and add the butter. When melted, add 2/3 of the marshmallows and cook, stirring, until the marshmallows have melted and combined with the butter, about 3 minutes. Next, fold in the chocolate chips and stir until they are melted. Add the salt and half o the broken graham crackers and stir so the cracker pieces are incorporated into the chocolate marshmallow mixture but not broken up too much.
  3. Tip the mixture into the prepared pan and press it into the pan with a wooden spoon. Sprinkle over the remaining graham crackers and marshmallows, pressing them down with your hands so they set into the base. Next, add the coated candies and sprinkles and press them down.
  4. Allow to set for 1 hour before removing from the pan and cutting into bars. Or you can chill for 10 minutes and slice if you're in a hurry.
I like the marshmallows toasted so I put the bars in the broiler before adding the sprinkles and candies then cooled them. Make sure you pay attention while broiling, it doesn't take long to get them toasty.

Here is the finished product. They were ooey-gooey, chocolatey, marshmallowy GOODNESS.

Good Egg or Bad Egg? That is the question!

***UPDATED 6/18/23***

Due to not shopping as much, I found I have sell-by dates on my eggs to be 2 weeks old. Okay, so there is a way to find out if the egg is okay to eat!
This method has always worked for me so you try it the next time you are wondering if the egg is good or bad!
Each egg should be tested individually out of the carton.
A glass of water and an egg is all you need for this!

See where mine landed in a cup of water...

Hard to see in this pic but it was standing on the end which means -- use soon!

Hope this helps you to determine if the eggs are good or bad.

Do you have a helpful tip on determining if an egg is bad or good? Let us know in the comments below!!
