Product Review Muffin Top Silicone Pans

We have a product review for you this week and it's all about using silicone pans / molds.

I haven't used a silicone mold in a long time. I was looking for ways to make perfect whoopie pies and found these muffin-top silicone pans on Amazon. The title came up with whoopie pies and I bought them thinking they would work well.

Amazon.com: Walfos Silicone Whoopie Pie Baking Pans

My first attempt was pumpkin whoopie pies. I think I put too much batter in the mold and they turned out like short cupcakes. Because they were thicker than normal, they made a thick whoopie pie. Although they were delicious, it was a bit much. I believe the batter was too thick and maybe if I had thinned the batter it would have worked better.

My second attempt at making whoopie pies was the classic chocolate. They turned out much better and simply scrumptious.  Reminded me of my mom's homemade whoopie pies. These were made with a cake mix. They definitely were a hit at our Christmas party. I'm keeping this recipe for certain!

Recipe for the classic chocolate whoopie pies below ⮟

Not only can you make muffin tops and whoopie pies, but you can also make Egg muffins, muffin tops, tarts, eggs, cookies, mini cheesecakes or quiche, gelatins, and more.

No need to grease the pan, the cakes came out perfect. The cleanup was super easy, nothing really stuck to them and they clean up like new.

I did put them on a cookie sheet for stability because of how soft the mold is when handling them.

I highly recommend silicone molds and give these 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • easy cleaning
  • no greasing necessary
  • cakes come out with ease
  • heats evenly
  • stores conveniently

Here are the details of the molds from Amazon.

PRODUCT REVIEW Hamilton Beach Bread Machine

My husband is trying to go gluten-free.  So before Christmas, we were trying to make gluten-free bread. One of our Christmas presents was a Hamilton Beach bread machine.  It has a gluten-free setting.  Nice, right?  So we have made a few items with it.  After all, it is tax season and I am super busy getting my records to the accountant.

My husband has made several loaves of gluten-free bread.  We used the gluten-free setting.  He likes the ease of using the machine.  The bread turned out pretty good.  Gluten-free is a dense bread, so he mainly uses it for toast.  I thought I had a picture, but I guess not.  Sorry.

I tried my hand at it and made raisin bread and pizza dough.   These were not gluten-free.  They turned out great.  So easy.  The machine comes with a booklet that lets you know how to use the machine and how to layer your ingredients for the best results.

As you can see there are quite a few settings on this machine.  What surprised me was the cake setting.  I have not tried that yet, but I am looking forward to doing that.  There is only one small paddle in the bottom of the bread pan.

That one little paddle does the job.  The pan itself is easy to clean.  You are not supposed to put it in the dishwasher because there is a coating on the pan which makes it nonstick.  The dishwasher will ruin that.  You really do not need to put it in the dishwasher as it cleans up so nicely with a little soap and warm water.  Takes only a minute to clean the pan.

As you can see, it has quite a few settings, even jam.  The raisin bread I made was awesome and the pizza dough turned out great and so easy to use this machine.

This machine is a hit in my house.  My husband and I plan to use it frequently.  Not only is it easy and takes very little time to add your ingredients, but clean up is super easy.   Who doesn’t like warm fresh bread?

If you like bread, I highly recommend this machine.

My next review will be on the other Christmas present we received, Food Saver.   We have some awesome children.

Keep it sassy,
Rhonda

Rodan + Fields Product Review

We have a long time social media follower & friend that is an independent consultant for Rodan + Fields. Jeanette has sent us sample products before and we loved them. She reached out to us again and said that she had some product samples we could try. She sent us samples of Enhancements Micro-Dermabrasion Paste & Active Hydration Body Replenish. The samples were sent in a pretty blue bag with instructions to the products.

The first product we sampled was the Rodan + Fields Enhancements Micro-Dermabrasion Paste. It is a face and body sugar and salt based scrub that gently buffs away dull skin cells and dry, flaky skin.

REVIEW: the first thing we noticed is the citrus scent. We applied it to our hands for testing purposes and after washing it off, it left our skin super silky and smooth. It didn't leave a greasy residue and our hands had a bright and vibrant glow. As we get older our skin tends to dry out and look like dried up leaves. Nobody wants that 😉 This product should only be used a couple of times of week. The price on the website is $83 but if you sign up for the PC Perks, you get a discount and other benefits.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

The last product we sampled was the Rodan + Fields Active Hydration Body Replenish. It is an all-over hydration lotion that supposedly gives you a younger-looking, younger-acting skin with their breakthrough body moisturizer that instantly and continuously hydrates.

REVIEW: we were told to exfoliate with the first product and use the Active Hydration Body Replenish after exfoliating. It didn't have much of a scent, which was the first thing we noticed. It wasn't greasy and made our hands feel super soft and look much younger. We would recommend this product along with the scrub. This product has $66 price tag but again, if you want to save a bit of cash, you can subscribe to their Perks program.

If you are so inclined to try any of the products, you can head over to her website Rodan + Fields .

Product Review Sensitivity Toothpaste Comparison - Sensodyne Pronamel vs Sensitive from Dollar Tree

Everyone uses toothpaste of some kind (at least I hope so) and most people have a preference. I thought, what would it hurt to try the Dollar Tree brand of sensitive toothpaste and if it worked I would save a few dollars a month on toothpaste.

I bought the Sensitive Extreme (SE) from the Dollar Tree and the Sensodyne Pronamel Repair (SPR) from Walmart. Here are my thoughts:
  • Consistency: the SE toothpaste was a little runny in consistency compared to SPR.
  • Taste: the SE tasted funky and not like a toothpaste should taste. The SPR has a pleasant minty taste.
  • Whitens: I’m not so sure SE whitens like it states, I only used it for a couple of weeks. And did not notice a difference. I believe SPR keeps my teeth a bit whiter than if I use a toothpaste without whitener.
  • Sensitivity: My sensitivity to cold came back in a day or two after using SE where as the SPR helps with the sensitivity issue.
  • Price: Obviously the SE toothpaste is $1 and the SPR runs around $6. Is it worth spending several more dollars on SPR? I would say a definite YES!!
I hope this helps when it comes to shopping for toothpaste.

We'd love to know if you've tried these products and if you liked them or not.
