🍁 The 12 Monthly Recipes

The illustrated collection features all 12 flavors, with a granola bowl and recipe for each month.

Tips for Making Homemade Granola

For most of these recipes, preheat your oven to 325°F, spread the mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake until golden and crisp, 25-30 minutes. Allow it to cool completely before storing. Add dried fruit and chocolate after cooling.

🥣 Tips for Storing Homemade Granola

Keep your granola fresh, crunchy, and delicious!

Homemade granola is wonderful for breakfast, snacking, and gift-giving. But storing it properly makes all the difference!

🍯 8 Tips for Keeping Granola Fresh

1. Cool completely before storing. Never put warm granola into a container. Trapped moisture can make it soggy and encourage mold.

2. Use airtight containers. Glass mason jars, sealed food-storage containers, and resealable bags work well.

3. Store in a cool, dry place. Keep granola in a pantry away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.

4. Keep it fresh for 1–2 weeks. Most thoroughly baked, dry homemade granola stays fresh at room temperature for approximately 1–2 weeks when stored properly.

5. Freeze for longer storage. Place completely cooled granola in freezer-safe bags or containers. For best quality, use within approximately 3 months.

6. Add dried fruit after baking. Raisins, cranberries, dried blueberries, and dried peaches should be mixed in after the granola cools.

7. Keep fresh fruit separate. Add fresh strawberries, blueberries, peaches, or bananas just before serving. Granola containing fresh fruit or vegetables needs refrigeration and has a shorter shelf life.

8. Watch for signs of spoilage. Discard granola if you notice mold, unusual moisture, or a rancid or unpleasant smell.

❤️ How to Keep Granola Crunchy

If your granola becomes a little soft from humidity but shows no signs of spoilage, spread it on a baking sheet and warm it at 300°F for 5–10 minutes. Let it cool completely before storing again.

🎁 Giving Homemade Granola as Gifts?

Mason jars make adorable homemade gifts! Add a decorative ribbon, the granola flavor, ingredients for allergy awareness, and the date it was made.

Who says homemade granola can't be cute? 🥣❤️

We've created 12 adorable printable granola labels, one for every month of the year! Each label features seasonal colors, charming decorations, and a little personality to match the month's delicious granola recipe.

Whether you're filling mason jars for your own pantry, surprising a neighbor, making teacher gifts, or putting together holiday goodies, these labels add that extra-special homemade touch!

✨ Here's how to use them:

  1. Print your favorite labels on cardstock or sticker paper.

  2. Carefully cut around each label.

  3. Punch a small hole at the top if you're making gift tags.

  4. Attach with twine, ribbon, or a pretty bow.

  5. Fill your mason jar with homemade granola and enjoy!

🎁 Sassy Sisters Tip: Add a little note with the ingredients, date made, and storage instructions to the back of each tag. It's a thoughtful finishing touch!

One extra tip: Granola containing fresh shredded carrots, such as April's Carrot Cake Granola, should be refrigerated and used within 3–4 days or frozen, even when baked. For a shelf-stable-style version, use commercially dried carrots instead.
