Product Review - Not Your Father's Root Beer

Microbreweries are popping up everywhere. They are innovative in their brands and make great beer. BUT, if you don't like beer, what do you drink? Not Your Father's Root Beer. Rhonda was having a conversation with a friend about drinking beer and this particular beer came up. It's brewed by the Small Town Brewery of Wauconda, Illinois. She bought the beer at LIDL grocery store.

We tasted the beer and decided it did indeed taste like root beer but with a twist. Upon opening you could smell the vanilla aroma and the alcohol was detected. Rhonda liked it, which is unusual for her to like any alcoholic beverage. She said she'd bring it to a party if they were serving beer. Cathy thought it was too sweet for her taste but thought it would make a great dessert beverage. Kelly loves root beer but does not like beer in any form so this root beer she would not buy.

We gave it a 2 1/2 thumbs up

Here's our YouTube video review on the beer..

Have you tried this beer? Do you drink root beer? Do you drink beer? What brands do you like? Comment below!!

How to make with McCormick Spice Blends

***UPDATED 9/2/23***

Don't you love trying new recipes? We do and we thought we'd show you a way to vamp up your butter.
We used McCormick Spice blends Perfect Pinch in Vegetable, Lemon Herb, and Sweet Onion & Herbs.

What you need:
  • 1/2# of Butter ( 2 sticks ) softened
  • Cream ( just enough to make it easier to whip )
  • 1 tsp of your choice of McCormick herb blends

Instructions:
1. Whip up softened butter and a small amount of cream in a mixer until you have a whipped consistency.
2. Add herb blend and whip once again.

We divided the butter into 4 portions with different herbs and one with apricot preserves.
The butters were delicious on crackers but we all agreed they would be super delicious on rolls. You can also use the herb butter in dishes, meats, fish, chicken, and we could go on and on. You get the idea.

So why have boring butter when you can have scrumptious butter? Have it for dinner or a party.
Enjoy!!

We would love to hear from you, comment below!

Keep it sassy,

Cathy

Thanksgiving Day Caramel Apple Mimosas

Who doesn't love a good cocktail? We girls have been trying cocktails recently and on our last Facebook LIVE we tried Caramel Apple Mimosas. Oh were they good!! If you are interested in trying this cocktail, here is the recipe...

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. Caramel
  • 2 tbsp. cinnamon sugar
  • 1 c. apple cider
  • 8 oz. caramel vodka
  • 1 bottle champagne
  • Apple slices, for garnish

Directions

  1. In a small dish, pour caramel sauce. In another small dish, pour cinnamon sugar. Dip champagne flutes into caramel to rim glass, then dip in cinnamon sugar.
  2. Pour apple cider, caramel vodka, and top with champagne into flutes.
  3. Garnish with an apple slice and serve.

It would make a wonderful Thanksgiving drink. You can also make this a non-alcohol drink just by leaving out the vodka & champagne, substituting with sparkling apple cider.

We hope you try this drink and love it as much as we did. CHEERS!!
