I wanted a sifter to make it a little easier when I had to sift a lot of confectioners sugar for cookie making.
I bought this particular sifter from Amazon using an Amazon gift card given by my daughter and thought it would be perfect for my baking adventures.
All you need to start it up is 2 AA batteries. It holds 4 cups of flour and vibrates to sift. The cleanup is super easy, just rinse but don't immerse the whole thing in water.
Overall, I am pleased with this item. I will let you know how long it lasts me!

We hope you enjoyed this blog post. Do you have and use a sifter often? Do you think you would be interested in using a battery-operated sifter? Comments are appreciated.
Happy baking,
Cathy

I don't use a sifter very often, but when I do I use an old fashioned one with a crank handle. I think it works faster than this one and is just as efficient. But if you like it... that's all that matters.
I have a sifter that you squeeze the handle and the metal wheel at the bottom spins. I found it easier to just shake it against my other hand. Comes out faster that way. And you know how impatient I am. ha ha
As I was looking for my bread machine book recently, the drawer was such a mess that I decided to clean it out. While cleaning out the drawer I found this Milk and Honey Bread recipe for bread makers. It sounded so good I had to try it. So, I got my bread machine out, and low and behold the book was inside the machine. Too late, I had already decided to try this recipe. Besides, if this recipe flopped, I had time to make my regular bread. Milk and Honey Bread Recipe Ingredients : 1 cup plus 1 TBS milk 3 TBS honey (I used my husband’s honey, Pop’s Bees ) 3 TBS butter (melted) 1.5 teaspoons salt 3 cups bread flour 2 teaspoons active dry yeast (not bread machine yeast) Instructions : Add ingredients to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by your bread machine manufacturer. Settings: Basic with Medium crust Size: 1.5 lb This bread turned out GREAT!! As you ...
***UPDATED 10/2/24*** Cathy's Homemade Wrinkle Release Spray for Clothing I sell clothing online and sometimes they are extremely wrinkled. Plus, I use this for my own clothing. I have been using this recipe for about 3 years now and works great for me. This is simple and inexpensive. Recipe: 14 oz spray bottle 12 oz of water 1 tsp fabric softener 1 tsp alcohol Instructions : Mix all ingredients by shaking. Hang the clothing up on a hanger, I hang mine in the shower. Spray generously on those stubborn wrinkles and stretch the fabric at the wrinkle to straighten. Let dry overnight. So easy! I hope you will try this and save money because those wrinkle-release sprays purchased in the store are expensive. Let us know if you have tried this recipe or have one of your own. Comment and share your thoughts. Keep...

ReplyDeletehand crank probably would be faster but for as much sugar Cathy has to sift, this may be the thing for her. Thanks for the comment!

ReplyDeleteCathy will find out if it helps with the speed of sifting. Thanks for commenting!
