How to make with McCormick Spice Blends

***UPDATED 9/2/23***

Don't you love trying new recipes? We do and we thought we'd show you a way to vamp up your butter.
We used McCormick Spice blends Perfect Pinch in Vegetable, Lemon Herb, and Sweet Onion & Herbs.

What you need:
  • 1/2# of Butter ( 2 sticks ) softened
  • Cream ( just enough to make it easier to whip )
  • 1 tsp of your choice of McCormick herb blends

Instructions:
1. Whip up softened butter and a small amount of cream in a mixer until you have a whipped consistency.
2. Add herb blend and whip once again.

We divided the butter into 4 portions with different herbs and one with apricot preserves.
The butters were delicious on crackers but we all agreed they would be super delicious on rolls. You can also use the herb butter in dishes, meats, fish, chicken, and we could go on and on. You get the idea.

So why have boring butter when you can have scrumptious butter? Have it for dinner or a party.
Enjoy!!

We would love to hear from you, comment below!

Keep it sassy,

Cathy

Paul Mitchell Scalp Care Product Review

Hey everyone!! This blog post is a product review of Paul Mitchell Scalp Care.
Cathy's daughter, Michele (who is a hair stylist) gave us samples of the product. We all three used it and since it really takes up to 60 days to see a difference, we couldn't give a full evaluation. But that said, we do think the product smelled medicinal, more than likely because of the tea tree oil. The color turned us off because we have white hair and using colored shampoos other than purple/blue shampoos, may make our hair a bit yellow.
Kelly said the tonic made her scalp tingle and maybe it was working on her. She didn't have enough product in the bottle to really tell.
If you want to try the product, ask your hair stylist if she/he has a sample box.

Here's our video review of the product. If you hang in their long enough, there's a conversation about stimulation & alcohol. Watch and see!!!

DON'T FORGET our Tip Jar. Our equipment works okay but we'd like to have a better camera, lighting and a microphone. With the TIP JAR we can eventually purchase these items.  If you enjoy our videos and you'd like to help us out, even if it's a dollar, we would be so excited.  We have yet to decide the type of camera and lighting we would like to have, so we will let you know when we have figured it out. We really aren't all that savvy when it comes to all this technical stuff but we are willing to try. Can't fault a girl for trying. ;)

Rodan + Fields Redefine Regimen Skincare Review

We girls were contacted by a Rodan + Fields consultant, Jeanette Shaver, to review Redefine Regimen Skincare products. She sent us samples to try. This review is based on 2 applications per step.

The first was the Daily Cleansing mask. It is an exfoliating kaolin clay-based mask that you gently message with wet fingers into dry skin, then leave on for two minutes or so until it dries, and rinse off. We all agreed it was a smooth application and dried within the allotted time of 2 minutes. It felt like it was tightening the skin and left a refreshed feeling after washing.

The second step was the Night Renewing Serum. Time-release technology works all night to reduce anti-aging and wrinkles. Former younger looking skin. Night renewing serum contains a proprietary blend of powerful peptides and retinol.  It had a silky feel while applying and dried verily quickly. You are to apply a moisturizer after this step.

Jeanette also sent us a lip serum and this was a bit oily but felt good on the lips. Kelly thought it made her lips feel plump after the second application. This serum is suppose to reduce lip wrinkles.

All in all, we agreed that the products were worth exploring, although we don't know the prices at this point.

You can contact Jeanette Shaver for more information on Rodan + Fields products.

I WISH...

One of our posts on Facebook was this photo:

with that said, we had a plethora of comments. Here are a few...
  • All human beings could love one another.
  • I was skinny!
  • I wish I had money left over after I pay my bills.
  • I wish the worlds people would see that it is WE not US versus THEM. WE are all in this together and greed and war are stupid.
  • there was a cure for cancer .
  • I had more wine!
So if you could complete this sentence, what would your wish be? Comment below and share your wish.

Uplifting Story: Trash Man Creates Free Library with Books Found in Garbage

***UPDATED 7/14/23***

We are bombarded with bad news all day long from most network news shows. We don't know about you but we are tired of the hatefulness we see day in and day out. So, we are going to make it our mission to bring you uplifting stories from around the world that have touched our hearts.
This story actually came from GoodNewsNetwork.org.

There is a garbage man in Bogota, Columbia who began salvaging books that people were throwing out. He hated to see them in the trash bins so he started his own library in his neighborhood.

When he decided to rescue the books from the trash, it created a "snowball effect" that inspired him to continue saving discarded literature.

Jose Gutierrez has since collected over 20,000 books for his FREE library. He appropriately named the library "Strength of Words". He opens up his home to the children in his community on the weekends. He doesn't limit his book-lending to children, he has sent books to FARC rebels who are preparing to assimilate into civilian life.

For more information on this awesome story go to Good News Network.

Check out our video about the TRASHMAN...

Keep it sassy,
Kelly

HOW TO: Take care of Blueberries

It's blueberry season and oh how we love to eat them. There are a couple of things you need to know:
1. How to store blueberries so they don't turn moldy.
2. How to make a delicious dessert using blueberries.

Here are some helpful tips to ensure your blueberries stay fresh:
1. Check for mold before you buy them. Mold spreads quickly when they are in close contact. One bad blueberry can make the whole bunch bad.
2. Don't rinse unless you have to. The key is to keep them dry in storage. Rinse what you will use or at least let them dry before putting them back in the refrigerator.
3. Make sure you blueberries are dry. If you've rinsed them, just make sure you use a paper towel to absorb any excess moisture and the air circulation will deter mold.
4. Refrigerate your blueberries. Make sure they get air, so don't put them in the crisper. Blueberries will stay good for up to a week when stored this way.
5. Freeze them if they seem overripe. Spread the blueberries on a rimmed baking sheet, let them firm up in the freezer, then transfer them into a resealable plastic bag and pop them back in the freezer. They will keep for quite a few months, which means you can make all kinds of desserts later in the year.

Kelly makes the most delicious blueberry sorbet. Here's the recipe she uses from Simply Recipes - Blueberry Sorbet.

We hope you watch the latest video on How To Take Care of Blueberries :)
