Book Review of The Privateer's Dance by LN Goodyear

We recently had the privilege of reading the book The Privateer's Dance by LN Goodyear. We also interviewed the author on Facebook to find out more about her process of writing her first novel. The story is set in the Victorian era. We all three agreed it was an intriguing book with romance & mystery. You can buy it on Amazon as a digital book.

The following comes from the Amazon website: "Somehow Jessie had to keep her and her mother's dream alive. The dream was all she had left. The events during the last couple months had shattered her world. Her mother's murder coupled with the failed attempt to end her and her father's life, propelled her into a world of despair.
Now her aunt had convinced her father to move the splintered family to her father's brownstone in London in preparation for her Coming Out and Court presentation.
The move would separate her from her friends, home and the source of the dream. The orphanage and school built by her mother and the Duchess of Newbury needed her, the London Ton did not.
The only positive was she would not be exposed daily to the Duke and Duchess' son Jason. He broke her heart once but never again".

Pinterest Lephrechaun S'mores NAILED IT --- NOT!!

For our  February LIVE Facebook video, we thought we'd try out a Pinterest project of these adorable Leprechaun Hat & S'more's. How good do they look? Chocolate, Keebler's striped cookies and marshmallows. What's not to love about that?

As you can see by our attempt on LIVE video, they didn't turn out to half bad. We didn't dip the whole cookie in the chocolate like the directions said to but for time sake that part worked out fine. We dipped the marshmallows in the chocolate with toothpick and set them on a plate, put them in the freezer for a bit. After taking them out of the freezer, we dipped one side in chocolate to attach to the cookie. This is where we failed. We should have dipped the chocolate covered marshmallows in the green chocolate then dipped them in the green sugar. Our attempt to make a shamrock failed also.

It was all in fun and if you want to try and make them yourself, we would suggest taking a bit more time than we did. Have some fun and make these!! They were delicious!! Make them with your kids or grandkids.

Sassy Silver Sisters Lularoe Review

Recently, we sisters were presented with the opportunity to review LuLaRoe products! Emily White-Latham, a local consultant, sent a shirt and a pair of leggings at no cost to us. THANK YOU!

LuLaRoe is all about the prints and they do have some really gorgeous ones. The only caveat with Lularoe is the consultants are sent their inventory randomly if you see a print you adore your consultant might not have it in your size. But I'm sure Emily would go out of her way to find you what you want. Sizes range from XXS - 3X.

The material is super soft and you would think it would cling to every lump and bump but it doesn’t. Rhonda tried on the whole outfit, although the shirt was a bit big on her she thought the outfit was super comfortable. Kelly has worn the shirt and thinks that even with her problem with her mid-section you can't see her bulges. HAHA

We think if you were traveling, these clothes would be wonderful because they barely wrinkle. When you watch the video, you can see how they were mailed and the shirt wasn't wrinkled.

The prices aren't too out of this world and if you wear them often, we believe they are worth the price. Not sure how long this fad of leggings and long shirts will last, but we guess we will just enjoy them as long as it does.

Sassy Silver Sisters Cocktails

Typically, we share a cocktail recipe with you on our Facebook LIVE videos every month. Recently we were asked to share the recipes with all our readers.

We are not what you'd call savvy drinkers but we like a cocktail now and then.

Here are the last three cocktails we made since January 2017.

Let us know what you think and maybe even share your cocktail recipes with us.

Here is January's cocktail:

SOS (Save Our Sanity) we made this up and thought it was funny LOL

• shot of Absolut Vodka
• 1/2 shot of Chambord Raspberry Liqueur
• Splash of Cranberry Juice
• Splash of Pineapple Juice

Shake with ice and strain into a highball glass.

February's Cocktail:

Love Martini

• 1/2 shot Malibu Rum
• 1/2 shot Peach Schnapps
• 1/2 shot Citron or Plain Vodka (we used plain)
• 3 shots of Cranberry Juice
• 2 Strawberries for garnish
• Wedge of lime
• Sugar to rim the glass

Mix the Rum, Schnapps, Vodka, and Cranberry juice together in a shaker over ice and pour into the sugar-rimmed glass. Garnish with a strawberry.

Thank you to the Picture the Recipe, this drink was delicious!!

March Cocktail:

Irish Doe

• 1 oz. Irish Whiskey
• 1 oz. PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
• 3 oz. Ginger Ale
• Splash of Lime Juice
• Lime Wedge
• Ice

Fill the glass with ice, add whiskey, PAMA, ginger ale, and lime juice, and stir. Top with a lime wedge.

Sassy Silver Sisters Review Subherban Roots Salve

We were given a sample of Subherban Roots Salve to try and review.
First a little about Subherban Roots. 
They have a ¼ acre neighborhood-based permaculture homestead and apothecary located in old-town Warrenton, Virginia. They focus on growing medicinal herbs and making handmade preparations for themselves and others. They grow biologically and never use pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers. Their mission is to pursue sustainable and community sourced living options for suburban & sub rural communities and to show that it's not the amount of land you have access to but what you do with it that counts!

Now onto the review. 
The salve was orange in color, which we believe is from the cayenne pepper ingredient. It smelled medicinal at first  like some other salves we've tried, not sure if it was from the rosemary herb. After we rubbed the salve into the skin , it no longer smelled medicinal.  It was smooth in texture and a little bit went a long way.

We actually didn't have it long enough to see if it worked but we rated it a thumbs up. WHY? Check out the video and we will tell you why!
