Cathy Loves this Easy Tortilla Pizza Recipe

***UPDATED 8/5/23***

I am ALL about how to get by easily and cheaply. So, this is a recipe I tried and I love it.  You can make it your own special way by adding the ingredients you want. What I liked best was the tortilla is thin.

I made 2 because I can! 🤣I did a taste test on my every Monday LIVE stream on our YouTube channel.

Easy Homemade Popsicle Recipes

***UPDATED 7/14/23***

It’s been hot and sticky in Virginia lately. What would make it tolerable is a cold & refreshing treat. My grandkids love popsicles and I have them ready when they come over for a visit. You don’t have to have anything fancy to make popsicles. All you need is some fruit juice, fruit, and some sort of mold. I’ve made them in small cups with a popsicle stick and I’ve made them in a silicone mold.

Here are some delicious recipes that you can make for your kids, grandkids, or just for yourself.

The link to the recipes is highlighted in this post. Thanks to all those bloggers that share their love for food and family.

🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧🍧

At Live Eat Learn she has the most delectable popsicles using fruit, yogurt, coconut milk, and even veggies in some of them. Got to sneak in the veggies, they won't even know they are getting a healthy snack.

        Sneaky Spinach

1.5 cups milk, 1 cup fresh spinach, 1/4 cup honey, 2 bananas

Lemon Tree Dwelling has fruit smoothie popsicles. You make a smoothie and freeze it in molds. Super easy and delicious.

Eat on a Dime has a recipe using Jell-O. Who knew you could freeze Jell-O? The variety of flavors of Jell-O could make for interesting popsicles.
  • Strawberry, Black Cherry, Lime, Lemon, Cherry, Peach, Raspberry, Watermelon, Apricot, Island, Pineapple, Strawberry-Banana, Grape, Orange, Cranberry & Tropical Fusion

Cooking Classy came up with the Neapolitan Popsicles. This particular recipe takes a bit more time because you have to wait between layers to freeze. But, they will be worth it. Do you like Neapolitan ice cream? Then you might like these popsicles.

Don't Waste the Crumbs has the simplest ice pop recipe. All you need is fruit and a bit of liquid of your choice. I think you could easily make this an adult ice pop using your favorite wine or liquor. You can get the Zipzicle Ice Pop Pouch on Amazon.

Living on a Dime has a 2 ingredient Kiwi popsicle recipe. Kiwi is one of my favorite fruits and I think I just might make these myself.

2 Ingredient Kiwi Popsicles
4 kiwi, 1 1/2 cups juice (grape or pineapple), 1-3 tsp. sugar (optional)
Blend until smooth.
Add sugar to taste.
our into molds and freeze.

Do you happen to make homemade popsicles? We’d love to know what you use from the recipes to your molds. Please comment and share. 😊

Keep it sassy,
Kelly

Organize Your Pantry in 10 Steps

***UPDATED 3/18/23***

Organizing a pantry can be a daunting task but with a few products and time, you can have your pantry in ship-shape order sooner than you think.

  1. The first thing to do is take everything out of your pantry.
  2. Take inventory of food items and check expiration dates. Throw anything away that is past its best used by date. If there's an item that you know you won't use and it's not expired, give it to a local food pantry.
  3. Clean the shelves and floor.
  4. If you need to replace shelf liners, this is the time.
    ClosetMaid 12" x 10' Shelf Liner Roll - Walmart.com - Walmart.com

  5. Categorize like items. Invest in some baskets or containers to store your items, the Dollar store, Ikea, Amazon, and Walmart are great places to go. They have all kinds of containers to choose from. You may also need to add labels to your containers for ease of use. Using clear bins in different sizes because you can stack them and see through them. It makes life much easier.

Bulk Jot 1x3-in. White Removable Multi-Purpose Labels, 72-ct. Packs (dollartree.com)

  6. Once you've decided what goes where start packing those containers with like items.
  7. Utilize the inside of the door. You can hang a rack on the door for small items and items that you would use frequently.

  8. If you have space on the inside wall, use hooks to hang aprons, brooms, etc.
Amazon.com: Holikme Mop Broom Holder Wall Mount Metal Pantry Organization and Storage Garden Kitchen Tool Organizer Wall Hanger for Home Goods (4 Positions with 4 Hooks, Silver): Home & Kitchen

  9. Have a kid's spot in the pantry. It could be a basket of snacks they can retrieve themselves and not have to ask mom.
20 Incredible Small Pantry Organization Ideas and Makeovers | The Happy Housie (porch.com)

  10. After you have cleaned and sorted it, keep it up. Your pantry can get disorganized over time. Always put items back in their appropriate spot, and get the whole family on board by keeping food accessible and visible. Twice a month make sure everything is clean and in its place so you don't have to spend hours organizing it again.
Thanks to HGTV Good HouseKeeping & The Happy Housie for the ideas.

Do you have some marvelous ideas for organizing the pantry? Please share in the comments, we'd love to hear from you.

Keep it sassy,
Kelly

Skittles Candy Coated Popcorn Recipe Review

***UPDATED 9/2/23***

I always like to try to make recipes with popcorn. I found this recipe that I thought would be fun and taste great.

The recipe was found here at Penny Pinchin Mom.

Skittles Candy Coated Popcorn

Ingredients:

4 cups of popcorn (plain, unsalted)

4 oz. butter or margarine

1/2 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup of Skittles® (use one flavor for each batch)

Waxed paper

Instructions or better yet what I did:

1. Separated candies by color.

2. Popped the popcorn and placed it in a bowl, set aside.

3. Put a sheet of waxed paper on the counter.

4. Melted butter with brown sugar on the stove on low heat. Stirred frequently to avoid scorching.

5. Pour in Skittles® candies. Stir until melted (you need to mash them down to help them dissolve).

6. Pour the hot candy mixture over the top of the popcorn & use a spatula to fold in the mixture until the popcorn is well covered. DO THIS QUICKLY!

7. Put the popcorn on waxed paper and spread thinly to allow it to cool.

My review:

I was expecting more flavor because candies by themselves have great flavor but when I mixed it with brown sugar and butter, it took some of that sour flavor away. The most time-consuming part was to separate the candy by color.

I don't think I will make this recipe again because of the flavor not being strong enough candy flavor.

Thanks,

Cathy
